HubSpot for AI companies
We configure HubSpot for the way AI companies sell: workspaces and subscriptions as custom objects, pilots and usage contracts in their own pipelines, product usage synced in with Data Hub, and Breeze agents and the Claude and ChatGPT connectors set up on clean CRM data.

Is HubSpot a good fit for AI companies?
Yes. HubSpot runs marketing, sales, customer success and partner work for AI companies on one platform, from self-serve signups to enterprise contracts. On Enterprise it adds custom objects for workspaces, subscriptions and usage accounts and connects data warehouses through Data Hub, and its Breeze agents and agent builder work on the same CRM data. HubSpot also publishes its own connectors for Claude and ChatGPT.
Many AI teams we meet started HubSpot for newsletters and demo requests, then added sales without a usage model behind it. Workspaces show up as duplicate companies, pilots and contracts share a pipeline, and product usage stays in a dashboard sales never opens. A deliberate data model, set up before the portal grows, turns all three into one view.
Checkpoint GTM is a HubSpot Platinum Partner based in Berlin. We configure Marketing Hub, Sales Hub, Service Hub, Data Hub and Revenue Hub for AI companies, connect HubSpot to your warehouse and product data, migrate from Salesforce and other CRMs, and hand the portal to a named owner.
What we configure
- Companies, contacts and Enterprise custom objects for workspaces, subscriptions and usage accounts
- Separate pipelines for pilots, sales-led contracts and expansion
- Product usage and warehouse data synced in with Data Hub and used for product-qualified lead rules
- Breeze agents, the agent builder and the Claude and ChatGPT connectors set up on clean data
Typical hub mix
- Smart CRM and Sales Hub for sales and solutions engineering, Marketing Hub for signups, nurture and events
- Data Hub for product usage and warehouse sync; Service Hub for onboarding, support and renewals
- Enterprise where you need custom objects or warehouse connections, Professional where you do not
The HubSpot object model we build for AI companies
AI companies sell to an organisation, but usage happens in workspaces, projects and API keys. The object model has to hold both. This is where we start, adapted to your product.
- CompaniesThe paying organisation as the account, with parent and child companies for groups, subsidiaries and enterprise divisions that buy separately.
- Contacts and buying rolesChampions, technical evaluators, security reviewers, procurement and the economic buyer as labelled roles, next to the developers and admins who arrive through self-serve signups.
- DealsOne deal per pilot, new contract or expansion, with committed value, pricing model and the motion it came from: self-serve, sales-led or partner.
- Custom objects for workspaces and subscriptionsOn Enterprise, custom objects hold workspaces, subscriptions and usage accounts, associated with companies and deals, so a customer with several workspaces still reads as one account.
- Products and quotesPlatform fees, seat packs and usage credits in the product library, and quotes created from deals in Revenue Hub, including renewal and change quotes for expansions.
- Tickets and projectsTickets for technical support and onboarding requests, and the projects object to run pilot and implementation plans in Gantt and board views.
Pipelines for pilots, contracts and expansion
Each motion gets its own pipeline, stage definitions and exit criteria, so a free proof of concept never sits in the same forecast as a signed annual commit.
Sales-led contracts
Discovery to signature for enterprise and mid-market deals, with a security and AI governance review stage before procurement.
Discovery · Technical evaluation · Security review · Procurement · Contract · Won

Scoped · Live · Results review · Converted or closed
Expansion and product-qualified deals
Deals created from product usage: product-qualified signups ready for a sales conversation, and existing accounts approaching their usage commit.
Product qualified · Contacted · Use case confirmed · Proposal · Won
Integrations we connect to HubSpot for AI companies
We connect the systems that hold usage, billing and product data, so the CRM shows what customers actually do.
- Data warehouse connectionOn Enterprise, Data Hub connects data warehouses and storage platforms, so usage tables reach companies and custom objects without a manual export.
- Product and signup dataSignups, workspaces and plan changes synced from your other apps with Data Hub, which syncs data between apps and lists 100+ integrations, with custom field mappings from Starter.
- Datasets for usage reportingData Hub datasets, on Professional and Enterprise and currently in beta, combine HubSpot records with external usage data for reporting.
- Billing and subscription dataInvoices, commits and usage charges from your billing system brought into HubSpot as read-only reporting data on companies and subscription objects. Metering and payments stay with your billing provider.
- Claude and ChatGPT connectorsHubSpot publishes its own connectors for Claude and ChatGPT in the HubSpot marketplace. We install and set them up for the teams that work in those assistants every day.
- Salesforce coexistenceWhere a parent company, an enterprise division or a partner runs Salesforce, HubSpot's Salesforce integration syncs contacts, companies, deals, tickets and custom objects both ways, with sync rules per field.
Security and data settings we configure
Your enterprise buyers ask how you handle their data, and your own security team will ask the same about your CRM. These are the HubSpot settings we put in place and document.
- EU data hosting in GermanyHubSpot hosts accounts in an EU data center in Germany, and paid accounts can change their data center. We pick the region at setup or plan the move for an existing portal.
- DPA and transfer termsHubSpot's data processing agreement includes GDPR terms and EU Standard Contractual Clauses. We reference it in the CRM documentation your security reviewers ask for.
- GDPR toolsLegal basis for processing recorded on contacts, consent-based limits on marketing email, permanent delete, and the data request manager for deletion and export requests from signups and leads.
- SSO and audit logsSingle sign-on on Professional and Enterprise, and audit logs of account activity, where Enterprise Super Admins can also see actions taken by HubSpot employees in the account.
- Security reportsHubSpot publishes a SOC 2 Type II report, a public SOC 3 report and the EU Cloud Code of Conduct Level 2 mark, which helps when your own customers review your vendor list.
- AI data use and sensitive propertiesHubSpot does not permit its AI providers to use customer data for model training. Sensitive properties are not used to train Breeze models, and we keep them out of agent and chatbot inputs, as HubSpot's data agent guidance recommends.
Breeze AI agents, set up for AI companies
Your buyers expect an AI company to run on AI. HubSpot's Breeze agents run on HubSpot Credits; we set up the ones that pay off and connect them to the right data.
- Customer agentAnswers routine product, plan and onboarding questions from signups and customers, on Professional and Enterprise, with credits consumed only when it delivers a resolution.
- Prospecting agentResearches accounts showing intent or rising product usage and drafts outreach from CRM, conversation and intent data, in the contact's preferred language.
- Data agentFills properties such as AI use case, tech stack or team size from web research, company websites and call transcripts, through smart properties, workflow actions and smart columns in datasets.
- Agent builderCustom agents for your own processes, for example a pilot review brief before the decision meeting or a security review summary, built with actions that browse the web and read and write CRM records.
Migrating an AI company's CRM to HubSpot
From Salesforce, another CRM, or a founder-built setup of spreadsheets and a product database. Our migrations follow four steps.
Map the model
Inventory every object, property, pipeline and integration, decide how workspaces and subscriptions map to companies and custom objects, and agree the target model before a record moves.
Clean and merge
Deduplicate companies created by self-serve signups, merge workspaces under their paying account, and retire fields nobody uses.
Move and test
Move the data with HubSpot Smart Transfer or the Salesforce integration, reconnect usage and billing syncs, and run a timed dry run on real accounts before cut-over.
Cut over and hand over
Sales, marketing and customer success switch on a fixed date, usage dashboards go live, and a trained owner on your side takes over the portal and its documentation.

Questions about HubSpot for AI companies
Is HubSpot a good fit for AI companies?
Yes. HubSpot covers marketing, sales, customer success and partner work for AI companies on one platform, from self-serve signups to enterprise contracts. Enterprise adds custom objects for workspaces and subscriptions and data warehouse connections through Data Hub, and Breeze agents, the agent builder and HubSpot's connectors for Claude and ChatGPT work with the same CRM data.
Can HubSpot handle usage-based pricing?
Yes, with the right data model. We keep committed contract value on the deal, put workspaces, subscriptions and usage accounts in Enterprise custom objects, and sync consumption from your warehouse with Data Hub. Products and quotes in Revenue Hub cover platform fees, seats and credit packs, while metering and payments stay in your billing system.
How do we get product usage data into HubSpot?
Through Data Hub. It syncs data between apps, and on Enterprise it connects data warehouses and storage platforms, so usage tables reach companies and custom objects on a schedule. Datasets on Data Hub Professional and Enterprise, currently in beta, combine HubSpot records with external data for reporting.
HubSpot vs Salesforce for AI companies?
Both run AI company revenue teams well, and we implement both. HubSpot is usually faster to launch and easier for a Seed to Series B team to own, with marketing, sales, service and data sync on one platform and Breeze agents built in. Salesforce suits organisations with deep enterprise customisation and an admin team to run it. Where a parent company, division or partner runs Salesforce, HubSpot's Salesforce integration keeps both in sync.
Which HubSpot tier does an AI company need?
Enterprise if you want custom objects for workspaces and subscriptions or a direct data warehouse connection, since both are Enterprise features. Professional covers teams that sync usage through app integrations, and includes single sign-on and the customer agent. We size the hub and seat mix to your process, not the other way round.
Does HubSpot work with Claude and ChatGPT?
Yes. HubSpot publishes its own HubSpot connector for Claude and HubSpot connector for ChatGPT in the HubSpot marketplace. We set them up alongside Breeze, HubSpot's built-in agents, and keep sensitive properties out of AI inputs.
How long does a HubSpot implementation for an AI company take?
A standard HubSpot build takes 6 to 10 weeks and a complex multi-hub build 12 to 16 weeks. Migrations from another CRM start from €15K, and work usually starts within two weeks of the first call.
Does HubSpot use our CRM data to train AI models?
HubSpot does not permit its AI providers to use your data for model training, and commits to minimising data retention, including zero-day retention where possible. Sensitive properties are not used to train Breeze models. We point Breeze agents at the business data they need and keep sensitive details out of their inputs, as HubSpot's data agent guidance recommends.
